The University of Arkansas is the crown jewel and center stage in Northwest Arkansas. Come hungry for the best that college athletics has to offer. Competition in the Southeastern Conference is fierce and whether it's Football, Swimming, Baseball, Basketball or Track and Field, Arkansas' premier athletic programs are well coached and well funded.
Night life in Fayetteville simply begins and ends on Dickson Street. From the Business Highway 71 to the corner of Old Main, there is every conceivable variation of entertainment available to you. The new Walton Arts Center enjoys sellout crowds for the North Arkansas Symphony season and The Broadway Premier Series. Walk down to George's Majestic Lounge where national and local music acts have been performing since 1927.
North of Downtown Fayetteville is the Northwest Arkansas Mall where you'll find national retailers in a tight shopping district. Springdale and Rogers are cities that seemingly connect as you travel north to Bentonville, the home of WalMart, the largest retailer in the world. See where Sam Walton started it all at his $.05 - $.10 store on the square - now a museum. Further up Highway 71 is Bella Vista, another well developed planned community.
Going east on Highway 62, don't miss Pea Ridge National Military Park, where 26,000 soldiers fought for the fate of Missouri in a significant Civil War battle in 1862. The Park is a well groomed and landscaped 4,300 acres.
